Our client, a national Children and Young Person Charity, are currently recruiting for 2 experienced Family Support Worker to join their Cheshire based teams.

The successful candidates will be providing a comprehensive support service to young people and their families who are experiencing complex and multiple issues through the delivery of evidence based interventions through both in group work and 1 to 1 sessions.

You will be working with children, young people and families who are either subject to Child Protection plans, new entrants to care and children on the edge of care.

The service works with families with a range of needs including substance misuse, mental health, neglect and domestic violence and you will be working with a number of partner agencies, services and professionals to ensure the families receive a comprehensive support service.

You will be supporting the family with both their practical and emotional needs which will include housing, benefits, school attendance, parenting / discipline, debt / financial management, health / accessing medical services, self esteem / confidence etc.

You will be contributing to a full family assessment as part of a multi-agency approach and will work collaboratively with partner agencies to ensure effective intervention planning, inclusive of family functioning, behavioural change approaches, parenting support, attachment and early years support and solution focused approaches.

You will be supporting the family in the community and in their own homes and will carry out in depth risk and needs assessments and agree support and action plans with the families.

You will be responsible for advocating on the families needs and rights in appointments and at case conferences/ multi-agency meetings (including CP Conferences, TAC Meetings, MARAC etc)

Essential Requirements:
*Experience working with vulnerable children, young people and families
*Strong working knowledge of Safeguarding and Child Protection
