Job Title: Operations Manager Counselling and Prevention Services
Hours: Part Time (21 hours a week)
Salary: £29000 + Outer London Weighting

To ensure the provision of high quality of service provision
To ensure 1-to-1 and group counselling to women and girls survivors of domestic and sexual violence
To ensure the high quality of service to schools and community through delivery of specific activities within the Prevention service
The continued development and set-up of the service across multiple sites in East London
That contract requirements are met and service standards are maintained
Compliance with all policies and procedures
Implementation of services operational plans
That all monitoring and evaluation systems are effective and efficient
2Develop and motivate all staff and volunteers
Provide effective line management to all staff under Counselling and Prevention
Ensure all counsellors hold the relevant qualifications and experience for their roles
To hold regular team meetings, ensuring effective communications, adherence to service standards and service development
To be the main point of contact for all concerns in regards to safeguarding and risk to manage performance and drive continuous improvement in service delivery
To ensure that all services offered by Ashiana Network comply with health and safely and are a safe environment that are appropriate to the needs of our women and girls
To act as advocate on behalf of women and girls, in particular but not exclusively South Asian, Turkish and Iranian women, making others aware of their particular needs
To take responsibility for preparing all monitoring reports for the service, in line with agreed practices and procedures
3Ensure effective promotion of the service and partnership working in boroughs of operation
Effectively build and develop key stakeholder relationships to promote and develop the Counselling and Prevention services
Ensure representation at key meetings and forums in all boroughs of operation
Ensure service level agreements are in place with key stakeholders
Lead effective partnership working in boroughs of operation, working in conjunction with other organisations, particularly where they offer a service to our service users
To regularly review the standards of care and support to ensure that they reflect the statutory framework and current good practice
To engage fully within the MARAC process, referrals, risk assessment and case management
To ensure that there are comprehensive policies and procedures to facilitate the introduction of the standards and that accurate monitoring is carried out to ensure that they are implemented
To be responsible for the collation and dissemination of information required by funders
To ensure the effective implementation policies on a day-to- day basis, particularly equal opportunities and confidentiality in relation to service users, staff and all aspects of service provision
To encourage and promote a tolerant and positive atmosphere within and external to the organisation around issues such as race, religion, gender, class, sexuality, language, disability etc.
To ensure appropriate case records are maintained to agreed standards
To manage all Counsellors and Prevention Workers and be responsible for:
Taking part in the recruitment process
Planning a programme of induction for new staff
To ensure the organisation conforms to the legal requirements of an employer and that the necessary personnel records are maintained in conjunction with the Director
Ensuring that regular supervision is provided for each member of staff, which also include sessional clinical supervisors to review the daily work of Ashiana, and the progress or otherwise of clients
To delegate work as appropriate and ensure the office/refuge presence is maintained to cover staff leave and sick leave
To motivate staff
To ensure the organisation and staff follow the BACP ethical framework
To be aware of and responsible for being involved for bringing own training needs to the attention of the Director as part of supervision and personal development
To bring training needs of staff into the development plans for any future work
To deal with complaints against staff and act to resolve them effectively and in line with Ashiana's policies and procedures
First level disciplinary of staff in accordance with the contract of employment
To manage the rota for staff duties and leave
To submit written reports and attend Management Committee meetings
To ensure the work carried out by counsellors is ethical and within BACP guidelines. Ensuring counsellors are working therapeutically with women and girls referred to the project, setting clear objectives, based on focused assessments established in partnership with the clients
Counsellors undertake specific direct face-to-face counselling work with women and girls in the community.
Counsellors are working sensitively with vulnerable women and girls
To access other appropriate services for clients
Counsellors are keeping up to date with research and new thinking within the area of therapeutic intervention
Counsellors are Setting up and facilitate support group sessions for women and girls
Being responsible to ensure all Counsellors provide all facilities and support needs that are appropriate for full engagement by girls of the activities
To record and monitor progress of the group activities
To promote the support groups widely in particular to all domestic violence partner agencies and take referrals from these agencies
