Based: Yorkshire and Humberside

Salary: £20 - 25 ph (dependent on experience)

Length: 3 months ongoing

Essential: Experience of operationally managing teams and services and a knowledge of the Criminal Justice System

Our client, a national Criminal Justice Charity, is looking to recruit an Area Manager to manage Court based support and advocacy services for Witnesses across Yorkshire and Humberside.

Synopsis of duties:

  • Responsible for the day to day management of 6 Teams across Yorkshire and Humberside which will include the direct line management of 6 Team Managers and indirect management of 100 plus Court and Community based volunteers
  • Line management duties will include supervisions, motivational leadership, identifying training and development needs and recruitment and retention
  • Working closely with Court staff, Legal Professionals, the Police, Probation and specialist charities (including Domestic Violence and Sexual Violence charities) to ensure SLAs are met, referral pathways are fit for purpose and witnesses are receiving a comprehensive support package
  • Collating service and team statistics and presenting to the SMT and funders as appropriate
  • Representing the organization at MARAC, MASH, CP, TAC and Core Meetings and advising statutory and non-statutory agencies and professional on services and issues around relating to witness services and experiences
  • Maintaining good working relationships with local voluntary and statutory agencies to keep up-to-date on local resources available to residents and other clients

Essential Requirements:

  • Previous operational management experience and ideally experience of managing team across multiple sites
  • Working knowledge of criminal justice system, Court services and/ or of working with vulnerable clients
