Role: Project Worker (Trafficking and Modern Slavery)

Based: Home Working with travel across Greater Manchester

Rate: £12 - 14ph dependent on experience

Length: 9 months

Hours: 21 - 30 hours

Start: Immediate

Our client, a respected national Children's Charity, are recruiting for a Project Worker to work across Greater Manchester supporting and advocating on behalf of children and young people who have been trafficked into the UK and exploited (including sexual exploitation, criminal exploitation and modern slavery).

The successful candidate will be providing 121 support, advocacy and guidance to young people and will be primarily working with unaccompanied minors alongside interpreters. You will be working to ensure the child's voice is heard, that they are kept safe and will be working to prevent the risk of re-trafficking.

You will be supporting children who have been identified as trafficked to navigate the complex systems of social care, immigration and criminal justice and providing intensive one-to-one support for unaccompanied children.

You will be responsible for raising awareness of the service and issues relating to trafficking and supporting professional with their work with trafficked children

You will facilitate multi-agency working and will signpost clients to additional specialist services as and when required.


  • Previous experience working with vulnerable children and young people - this can include supported housing, social care/ work, therapeutic support and/ or youth work
  • Experience of working with children & young people from abroad (unaccompanied asylum seeking children)
  • Ideally we are looking for someone who has experience or an understanding of issues around trafficking & exploitation
  • The worker will be required to have extensive experience in safeguarding
