Job description

Our client, a Children's Charity is looking for a reliable and experienced Children & Families Worker to work across schools within Birmingham.

This position is to start ASAP for approximately 3 months, working 16 hours per week.

The main purpose of this role is to work directly with children and families to support those at risk of exclusion from school.

You will promote inclusion and work with individual schools to support children and families using emotion coaching practice. Facilitating group, assembly and workshops within school settings to promote and raise awareness, self-help and support positive processes. Whilst using the Right Help Right Time framework to complete Early Help Assessments and Family Plans.

We are looking for someone with substantial relevant experience of working with children, young people and families within a school setting.

You must be capable of holding your own caseload, confident in delivering parenting support programmes, developing and running groups and 1-to-1 work.

Knowledge of the Right help Right Time framework would be advantageous.

It is essential that you have the ability to assess risk and manage crisis situations, produce and maintain professional, detailed records, letters and reports.

Ideally you will have obtained / working towards a professional qualification (NVQ III or IV) in a childcare related field such as Youth and Community, Social Work or Education or substantial equivalent experience.

An Enhanced DBS with Barred Lists is essential for this position.
