Role: Male Domestic Abuse Perpetrator Programme Worker

Based: Gateshead

Rate: £13 - 15 per hour (dependent on experience)

Length: Until March 2015 (potential that this role with turn into a permanent opportunity)

Hours: 20 - 30 hours (flexibility dependent on candidates' availability)

Start date: Immediate

Resourcing Group Futures is currently recruiting for a Domestic Abuse Worker to facilitate domestic abuse perpetrator group and 121 sessions.

We are recruiting on behalf of a specialist National Charity for someone to facilitate Domestic Abuse programmes, carry out 121 work and oversee safety and risk management.

Synopsis of duties:

  • The Domestic Abuse Service delivers a range of prevention programmes (both 121 and group) and the successful candidate will be using a variety of interventions to assess risks and needs and to achieve positive outcomes for the families
  • You will be working with male perpetrators of abuse to prevent further abuse and to ultimately increase the safety of women and children affected by and at risk of domestic violence
  • You will be working to encourage male abusers to take responsibility for their actions and will be promoting respectful, non-abusive relationships by supporting perpetrators to change their behaviour
  • You will be working closely with the Women's Safety Officer and a range of both internal and external partners to ensure multi-agency working and safety

Essential Requirements:

  • The successful candidate will need to have worked with either perpetrators and/ or victims of domestic violence
  • A strong working knowledge of safety management and the dynamics of abuse
  • The ideal candidate will have facilitated groups and carried out 121 work
  • They are flexible in the candidate's background including DAS perpetrator work, supported housing (ex-offenders/ domestic violence etc), probation, social work, counselling etc
