Role: Service Manager (Children and Families Team)

Based: West Yorkshire

Rate: £34,373 - 38,353 pa

Length: Permanent

An exciting opportunity has just become available for an experienced Service Manager to lead on the delivery of a systemic, trauma informed service for children and young people affected by domestic abuse and sexual violence.

The service forms part of an exciting and innovative new multi-agency partnership who work together to develop a 'one system approach'.

Role synopsis:

  • Responsible for all aspects of operational management including line managing Senior Workers and Family Support Workers and for carrying out 121s, supervisions and recruitment and retention
  • Overseeing the delivery, planning and evaluation of the service
  • Actively participating in local and regional boards and multi-agency meetings including DV Forums, DV Strategy Meetings, MARAC and Children's Safeguarding
  • Ensuring that front line staff have the appropriate training and supervision to deliver evidence based interventions that strengthen and repair relationships, improve attachment, reduce trauma symptoms, and help parents understand the impact of domestic abuse and sexual violence on their children
  • Ensuring that adequate attachment based play opportunities are provided for children in refuges and supported accommodation and that families are linked in to universal and targeted services
  • Working with delivery partners and commissioners to ensure a holistic, joined up approach to service delivery and innovation will be an key part of this role which also offers opportunities to seek funding and develop new areas of work
  • You will be working with the SMT to seek additional funding and to search for opportunities to develop new areas of work

Requirements:

  • Proven track record working as an operational manager within a related service including children and families, domestic abuse, supported housing, social care etc
  • Qualified to degree level with a professional qualification in social work, mental health or a diploma or MSc in counselling/therapy
